All readers are encouraged to submit questions to any of the nine participating philosophers about the issues they engage in this series of debates. The editor will then select the best of these questions to pass on directly to the authors for their answers. There is a small window of opportunity in which to submit questions to specific contributors: up to about a month after the announcement that their respective exchanges (e.g., for Section One, "Mind and Will") have been published. This small window represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for readers of all persuasions and educational backgrounds to directly address these authors and, if your questions are selected by the editor, to ensure that your questions are publicly answered by the contributors. So please take advantage of this unique opportunity while you still can.
All questions submitted according to these instructions will be considered by the editor and are intended for future publication on the Secular Web. Submission therefore constitutes acknowledgement of this intended purpose and permission to publish one's questions. Do not expect a direct e-mail reply to your question; answers to select questions will only be posted as part of the Great Debate itself. The complete question and answer sessions for the previous section (say, "Mind and Will") will be published along with the Secular Web publication of the next section (say, "Evil and Evolution"), or in the case of the last section, a few months after the final section has been published.
In order for a submitted question to even be eligible for consideration, readers are required to supply to following minimal information along with their question:
Submitted questions failing to provide such information will be ignored. You may submit your question via e-mail by clicking on the following link:
If you would like to engage in a more extensive discussion of the arguments presented in the debates themselves, please consider contributing to a new or existing thread in the Philosophy Forum of the IIDB Philosophical Forums.
