AMERICAN ATHEIST PRESIDENT ELLEN JOHNSON SLATED FOR
DONAHUE/MSNBC PROGRAM TUESDAY
American Atheists President Ellen Johnson will be the guest on the
nationwide "Donahue Show" Tuesday, February 4, 2003. Tune in to the
MSNBC News Channel beginning at 8:00 PM ET -- check local listings.
Ms. Johnson has served as President of the organization since 1995.
She is a frequent guest on media programs, and has testified on topics
such as Atheist civil rights and related First Amendment issues. She
served as chairwoman of the Godless Americans March On Washington
(GAMOW) Task Force, which organized the historic November, 2002 event
in our nation's capital which united an unprecedented array of
nonbeliever organizations in common cause to demand a greater role in
crafting public policy.
Since 1994, she has also served as co-host of "The Atheist Viewpoint"
television program carried on dozens of cable systems throughout the
nation and on the Internet.
Johnson received her Masters Degree in Political Science from the New
School for Social Research, and is a second-generation Atheist.
